Spread throughout Everdusk, humans have every kind of position imaginable within the world. Human have a strong presence along the coasts of Mystrar, where they do their best to avoid encounters with angry natives. They scratch out livings on Esovel, many of whom are descendents of Bael Turath who escaped the infernal transformation that created tieflings. Many of these human live on the arid continent in search of valuable vestiges and remnants of the realm, whether magical or nonmagical. Humans work in the forests of the Altanic Isles, sail the waters of the Deep Sea, and navigate the airways between continents. Keslinn is home to most humans, though. Here, humans have carved up the land into small nations in the wake of the Elder Wars, with wrought havoc upon the Suldian Empire. Humans engage in constant political intrigue and warfare within Keslinn, battling over borders and rights. One human organization that ignores borders and owes allegiance to no one nation is the Whiteshields. The Whiteshields are a loosely organized chivalric company that fights through Keslinn for good and order. Although its members are called knights, few nations besides Cygnis acknowledge them as such. Nonetheless, they have earned great respect. Recently, a figure known as Datan Draken has earned a name among the knights, rising in rank to where he holds more influence over the directives of the Whiteshields that ever before. Some feel this is good, for it allows the Whiteshields to better combat evil, while others feel it is too much power for one man. The magic-using humans of many nations have formed arcane colleges that compete for prestige and for valuable relics of the Dead World and the ancient empires. The most famous of these colleges is at center of Keslinn located on an earth mote—a floating island the lies over the enormous city of Regnesia. This college is called Archschool, and it is a source of the world’s greatest magic-users—whether of good or evil.
